FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Water Dispenser FAQs
What is the best water dispenser for home use?
Start with where you want to put it and how you prefer to supply the water. A bottled dispenser is a practical option if you do not have a mains connection nearby, but you will need space to store spare bottles and replace them when empty. An inline dispenser connects to your water supply, so there are no bottles to change.
Next, choose the temperature combination that suits your household: hot and cold for hot drinks and chilled water, or cold and ambient if you do not need heated water. Compare the dimensions, ventilation clearance and cooling capacity before ordering. If children will use the area, check whether your chosen hot-water model has a safety lock.
What is the best water dispenser for an office?
For an office, look beyond the number of employees and consider how many people will use the dispenser at the same time. Break times and meetings can create short periods of high demand, so compare each model’s cooling and heating output rather than judging by its size alone.
An inline model can be convenient for a regularly used kitchen or break room because it avoids bottle changes. A bottled model can suit locations without a nearby mains connection. Allow for bottle storage or filter replacements, and make sure the unit is easy to access for cleaning and servicing. Tell our team your staff numbers and intended location if you would like help choosing.
How does a bottled water dispenser work?
A bottled water dispenser draws water from a replaceable bottle into the unit. Depending on its design, water is fed by gravity or a pump, then supplied through the dispensing taps. Hot-and-cold models heat and chill water, while cold-and-ambient models provide chilled and unheated water.
When the bottle is empty, it is replaced with a compatible filled bottle. Check your model’s specified bottle size and fitting before purchasing bottles; our bottled range includes options for 18.9L bottles. The dispenser and its dispensing area still need regular cleaning according to the product instructions. A standard bottled dispenser does not necessarily add any filtration of its own.
What is a bottleless water dispenser?
A bottleless dispenser, also called an inline or mains-connected dispenser, is connected directly to a water supply rather than using replaceable bottles. It is useful where water is used regularly and you would prefer not to store or lift bottles.
Before choosing one, check the installation position, access to a suitable water connection and power supply, and any pressure or drainage requirements for that particular model. Some inline dispensers include filtration, so ongoing maintenance may include filter changes as well as cleaning. Check the product specifications for the included filtration and available water temperatures.
Do water dispensers filter the water?
Not every water dispenser filters water. A standard bottled unit dispenses the water supplied in its bottle, while a dispenser fitted with a filter bottle or an inline filtration system can provide filtration as part of its setup. The exact filter arrangement depends on the product.
Different filters are designed for different purposes, so do not assume that every system removes the same substances or makes any water source suitable for drinking. Check the filter specifications and the water-supply requirements for your selected model. If you need to address a particular water-quality concern, share that information with our team before choosing a system.
What is the difference between a water cooler and a water dispenser?
A water cooler specifically chills water. Water dispenser is the broader term for a unit that delivers water through a tap or dispensing control; it may supply chilled, ambient or hot water, depending on the model. The two terms are often used interchangeably in product descriptions.
For a useful comparison, look at three things: the temperatures offered, whether the water comes from a bottle or a mains connection, and whether filtration is included. Also compare the rated cooling or heating capacity. Two products described as water coolers can have quite different features and suit different levels of use.
How often should water dispenser filters be replaced?
Use the replacement schedule and rated water capacity specified for the filter fitted to your dispenser. There is no single interval that suits every system: the filter type, the volume of water used and the incoming water quality all affect its service life. If the manufacturer gives both a time limit and a litre capacity, follow its instructions on which limit takes priority.
Keep a record of installation and replacement dates, and use the correct replacement cartridge for your model. A change in taste, odour or flow is a reason to check the system, but do not wait for a noticeable change before carrying out scheduled maintenance. If you are unsure which filter you need, contact our team with your dispenser model and filter details.
